SA Schools seek Coach & Manger
The South African Schools Rugby Association (SASRA) has invited applications for the posts of team head coach and team manager. The closing date for applications is 24 Match 2014 at 16.30.

In 2013, when the SA Schools team won close encounters against England, France and Wales, the manager was David Coert with Chris October as the coach and Roean Bezuidenhout as the assistant coach.

Head Coach
Main Purpose of the Job
To coach / assist the SA Schools team in a four nations series against England, Wales & France.
Key Responsibilities
• In conjunction with the selectors, to select the best SA Schools team
• To prepare appropriately the game strategies in order to meet the competitive and transformational needs of SARU
• To ensure that the team excels in its performance and displays professionalism at all times when competing against opposition
• Design and implement competency-based coaching sessions
• Assist to implement SARU high performance strategies for age grade levels
• To provide coaching direction
• To ensure alignment of team programme with SARU’s high performance programme.
Experience
• Fulltime educator/teacher
• high performance and Coaching experience at Under-18 level
• Good knowledge of age grade rugby and LTPD (Long-Term Player Development) processes
• Experience in formulating cutting edge coaching strategies
• A good understanding of high performance coaching and strategies
• Team management experience including understanding and managing team dynamics
Education
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• IRB Level 2 coaching qualification

Team Manager
Main Purpose Of The Job
To manage, serve and support the daily requirements of the SA Schools Rugby Team.
Key Responsibilities
• To ensure that the squad which includes management and players operates in line with the norms and operations of SARU national teams.
• Responsible for the management of the squad in co-operation with the head coach.
• Ensure that fellow management members exercise their duties in a professional manner.
• Manage the discipline of the team and management in co-operation with the head coach.
• In conjunction with SARU, assist with the ceremonial responsibilities after games and at functions.
• To ensure that all training venues are of a high standard.
• To ensure professional management support to achieve success at events.
• Take responsibility for the management of all SARU property including kit and technical equipment
Competencies and Skills Required
• Experience in team management operations including understanding and managing team dynamics
• Practicing Teacher/Educator
• Strong interpersonal and efficient and strong communication skills including the ability to effectively liaise with players, coaches, administrators and dignitaries
• Strong organizational and administrative skills

• Prior Experience in a high performance team management environment
