SA Under-20 win in Edinburgh
The match was played at Murrayfield B.
At half-time the South Africans led 17-3 after scoring three tries, and in the match scored seven tries to none.
Coach Jean Roux said of the match: “I think the team played really well. We have been working on our collisions and on being physical, and we dominated in those aspects of the game.
“For the guys to play so well in the cold and windy conditions only a few days after arriving in Scotland is a pleasing result.
“I thought it went really well in the scrums, and I think we only lost one or two line-outs, so overall it was a great start to the tour.”
Of their defence, Roux said: “I believe that is the foundation of a good side, and so we will look to build on that. That said obviously the Welsh will pose different challenges.”
The team play Wales in Cardiff in their next match on Tuesday, 8 May 2018, and then England in London on Friday, 11 May 2018.
