SACS play Paul Roos
The pupils learnt well – well enough to teach others, including SACS, many a lesson.
This year there may belittle to choose between master and pupil, Both teams are ranked on the FNB Top 20 – Paul Roos 6th and SACS 13th. That is not much of a difference amongst the hundreds of eager rugby schools in South Africa.
SACS are unbeaten in seven matches while Paul Roos have lost three out of nine. But Paul Roos have had a tougher road along the season. They have played six teams on the Top 20 while SACS have played only one, Boland Landbou. Of the ranked teams Paul Roos have beaten Drostdy, Helpmekaar and Affies. Their defeats have been against Paarl Gim, Waterkloof and, right at the death, Grey High of Port Elizabeth.
SACS showed their mettle against Bishops last week when they came back to score a try at the death with the nerve to kick the angled conversion.
In fact both sides have the ability to run the ball and both sides have packs strong enough to win the ball.
SACS this week are without their captain and scrumhalf Vusile Dlepu who was the Western Province scrumhalf at the 2016 Craven Week.
