Sarel Cilliers's Rugby Day

On Saturday, 17 February 2018, it was 29°C at Newlands when the Stormers played the Jaguares in the first Super Rugby match of the year, and it was 29°C in Glencoe, Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal, when the Hoërskool Sarel Cilliers's rugby day took place, the first competitive rugby for those schools in 2018. That is hot. Good for cricket and swimming but tough for rugby.

Most of the school teams taking part were from Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal,
 
The match of the day was probably the cliffhanger between Pionier of Vryheid and Welkom Gimnasium. They won with a try in the dying seconds of the match. They rolled a maul and went over to take the lead with no time left to play.
