Sasolburg captain - Johan Kok
Johan Kok, as an experienced campaigner at schoolboy level, still regards the Sasolburg derby as one of the biggest events in his calendar.
The loosehead prop captain is an imposing figure standing over 1.90 cm tall and weighing in at a hefty 114kgs.
This year sees Kok in his second year of 1st team rugby after representing the Falcons at U16 and U18 levels.
Kok has used this representative team experience to his own advantage as he feels it is a platform to improve personal skills.
"Playing rugby at a higher level is a great way to improve your skills, you play against the best so you have to front up to become the best," the captain said.
Beyond simply improving his Rugby Kok also enjoys the social side of such representative tournaments.
"It is also a good place to meet new friends who have similar interests and even goals as you, they can help motivate you through the tougher times," he added.
Speaking on the Sasolburg derby coming up, Kok was excited for the challenge.
"The game against HTS Sasolburg is surely the highlight of any rugby player from Sasol High, it is what we wait for all year," he said.
"Our team for this weekend is a well balanced one, there are some older guys like me who have a years experience behind them as well as some other grade 11s who are still finding their feet.
"The younger guys bring a new energy to the team which is nice.
The Sasolburg Classic Clash is well known as a hard fought derby and Kok is expecting nothing different this time around.
"It is never an easy match against these guys [HTS Sasolburg], we expect them to be physical and to run hard," Kok said of his schools rivals.
"We will do all we can to try and fight fire-with-fire in order to be the dominant force."
