There were winners in all four divisions of the Beeld Trophy and finalists decided for some of Die Burger's competition but by and large the rugby season is dribbling to an end.
Beeld Trophy winners at 1st XV level were Dr EG Jansen, Transvalia, Ben Vorster and Koster.
In the competition organised for Die Burger, Paarl Gim and Outeniqua in Big Schools, Hermanus and Nico Malan in Medium Schools and Excelsior and Hoërskool Langenhoven will all contest the Finals on 31 August 2013.
In the Cape Peninsula Wynberg won again and so won the 'Triple Crown' over Bishops, Rondebosch and SACS. Bishops ended their run of defeats by winning at Rondebosch.
There were interschool competitions won by Stellenberg, De Kuilen, Bonnievale, Labori, Dirkie Uys, Swellendam and Charlie Hofmeyr.
In the Cape the rugby season used to last till the end of September; now it is the end of August with exams blamed for the curtailment.
