For most of South Africa this is the end. There is a bit of mopping up to be done but almost all of those who had not finished their season have done so now, but now without a shock as once again Drostdy pulled a surprise in Worcester.
There was one FNB Classic Clash this week and Tygerberg did not have it all their own way against Brackenfell in a Saturday of 'terrible winter rages'.
Up in Northvaal there were Beeldtrofee Finals with a surprise there as Kempton Park beat Monnas convincingly.
In the middle of the country Noord-Kaap won the KOVSIE Central Region Final with a two-point win in a high-scoring match.
In the Burger Competition there were semifinals. The Finals are in George on Saturday, 1 September 2012 – next Saturday.
In the rain, wind and mud Wynberg just got home against SACS to assert their Southern Suburbs superiority.
Strand, Labori, Charlie Hofmeyr and Tygerberg won Interschool matches while Stellenberg and Durbanville drew.
Most of the rugby played at this late stage in the season is played in the Western Cape. They seem to play more than any other part of the country, which may explain why so many good players from there populate South Africa's top teams.
