Schools Results - 10 August 2019
There may not have been a large number of results for this long weekend, but there were some interesting one.
It took a try at the death for Boland Landbou to win their annual derby with Oakdale. Another last-minute victory was that of Heilbron over Lyttelton Manor.
It was the 27th Interschools between neighbours Hermanus and Overberg of Caledon and the score ended 27-all.
Two top-ranked sides on the Top 20 took a tumble at the hands of lower ranked side. One match was astonishing. Garsfontein scored 40 points and yet Menlopark, who have been having a brilliant end to their season, beat them by 32 points. In the other match Helpmekaar beat Monnas, ranked eight places above them.
The results may have had something to do with players on SA Schools duty.

Hudson Park won their derby in East London as did Parel Vallei in Somerset West. Bishops and Wynberg, two schools founded in the first half of the 19th century, met at Bishops on Women’s Day with Bishops, much weakened, narrow winners.
