Late though it may be in the season, there were still some mighty matches, including three involving international teams at City Park in Cape Town.
There were also three Classic Clashes, won by Grey PE and Selborne with a draw in Graaff-Reinet when Union High scored after the final hooter for a somewhat fortuitous draw.
There were finals in Free State, which Louis Botha, Zastron, Hendrik Potgieter, Bethlehem Voortrekker, Wilgerivier, Bultfontein and De Aar won.
And in Northvaal there were semifinals won by Garsfontein and Nelspruit in two top-school contests, Klerksdorp and Transvalia, Vryburg and Hans Strijdom, Schweizer-Reneke and Koster and Belvedere and Alberton High School.
In Upington there was the Groot Interjol in which Uppies just beat Velties.
There were keen interschool rivalries between neighbours which Punt, Strand and Hermanus won.
Perhaps the biggest surprise was Framesby's win over Oakdale.

The five teams now move up to George and then return to Stellenbosch.
