Outeniqua win again

Outeniqua who won the Media24 competition last year added the new trophy, organised by Die Burger this year when they beat Drostdy in the final.

The three finals were played in George before the Eagles played the Griffons. Outeniqua won the one for Big Schools. Worcester Gimnasium the one for Medium Schools and Itembelihle the one for Small Schools.

For the rest schools rugby has been confined to the southern fringe of the Cape.

There were the finals of Die Burger, Kasselsvlei held its annual rugby day, there was a derby and there were three Sevens competitions.

The derby was between Milnerton and Table View, a Table Bay affair.

Bishops won the Villager Sevens while Paul Roos won the "country" Sevens and Scottsville the Northern Suburbs Sevens. As a curtainraiser to the match between Western Province and Natal the three teams plus a Western Province Academy side will play at Newlands to decide the champions.
