The other big surprise is Outeniqua's defeat of Drostdy – who were having an excellent season. Last week Paarl Boys' High had a big win over Grey in Bloemfontein. This week Selborne's victory came in the last minute.
There were also lots of Classic Clashes, won by DHS, Bellville-Suid, Ndzondelelo – in controversial circumstances, Witteberg, Eldoraigne, Linden, Hoogenhout and Lichtenburg
The scores are high in so many matches that seeing one of 10-6 is almost a relief, confirmation that normality still exists. There are scores that run into the 60s, 70s, 80s and even 90s.
What is also surprising are the scores of well-beaten sides, as in 76-26. Scoring 26 points used to mean a comfortable victory not being defeated by 50 points.
But the strangest score of all is 55-54!
