Schools results: May 23
There is another century of points for Monnas this week, which means that in their last two matches they have scored 218 points while conceding just seven.
In fact there seem many more high scores this year that ever before.
Fifty points and more are now commonplace. It's hardly due to climate change or recent law changes, but it does seem that the haves have even more and the have-nots even less.
Maybe, it's a shift of emphasis in some schools. But it does seem strange that a school like Florida, once so powerful, has conceded over 100 points in a match.
There are other remarkable matches, including Classic Clashes, won by Klerksdorp, Glenwood, Eldoraigne and Itembelihle who gave their long-serving coach, Theo Pieterse, a great send-off.
Bishops gave top-ranked Paarl Boy's High a run for their money. In fact Bishops scored the only try of the match. Tristan Leyds scored it and later that day his brother Dillyn scored two tries for the Stormers against the Rebels.
Bishops are part of a sign of the unreliability of scores in predicting results.
