Schools results: May 30
Probably the biggest surprise of the weekend was Helpmekaar's win over Waterkloof. Waterkloof are ranked 14th on the FNB Top 20 while Helpmekaar are unranked.
There were again some big scores. This week it was the turn of Morgenzon Landbou Akademie of Mpumalanga's turn to score more then a century. There are several other scores of over 50.
The most unusual score was the Classic Clash up in Limpopo. There were 96 points scored in the match and the result was a draw.
There were five other Classic Clashes won by Marais Viljoen, HTS Sasolburg after the Hoërskool's winning streak of four matches, Driehoek of Vanderbijlpark, Bethlehem Voortrekker who have won their clash with Witteberg since 2007, and the strong Potchefstroom Gim side.
Apart from Classic Clashes there were some especially interesting matches – a top-of-the-table clash between Monument and Dr EG Jansen, West Rand vs East Rand, an Anglican contest at St John's and a Methodist one at St Stithians, both won by their KwaZulu-Natal brethren.
In George in the Southern Cape there was a huge contest for top school between Outeniqua of George and Oakdale of Riversdale, the two schools which dominate South Western Districts Craven Week selection – 11 from Oakdale and nine from Outeniqua.
Glenwood dominate KwaZulu-Natal teams for Craven Week and Academy Week with seven players at each week for a total of 14, Westville have two going to the Craven Week and five going to the Academy Week for a total of seven, But Westville gave Glenwood their sixth defeat this season.
In wet Wynberg as at last the rains came to the dry Western Cape Bishops won the match that started 95 years ago.
Heidelberg Volkies' win means they have now won 11 of their 12 matches, their only defeat 20-19 to Vereeniging Gim in Vereeniging.
