Schools Results to 9 May 2015
There were FNB Classic Clashes this weekend with matches in Bloemfontein, Grahamstown, Uitenhage, Wolmaransstad, Worcester, Port Alfred and Potchefstroom. It was busy weekend in schools rugby.
It is also a weekend in which there were surprises.
In Bloemfontein Grey college lost their third successive match. Dr EG Jansen beat Monnas and Eldoraigne beat Kempton Park. In Grahamstown Graeme had an infrequent victory over St Andrew's and Garsfontein, who have been battling a bit this season, beat Nelspruit. The size of Paarl Gim's victory over Boland Landbou also raises eyebrows.
Two of the oldest matches in South Africa happened over the weekend. Selborne beat Dale, in a match dating back to 1892, and SACS beat Bishops in the oldest of all South African matches. It may well date back to 1862.
For those interested in trophy matches, Dr EG Jansen, the titleholders, won the Tuks Series, beating Monnas in the final.
