Schools top 20 - 26 August 2014
There are far fewer matches this week but still some interesting enough for changes to be made.
One must bear in mind that in most of the Top 20 these top schools are very close to each other, which means that a single result could shift a team several placed.
The significant victories this week which have led to schools' moving up are Nelspruit over Garsfontein this season, each time by a single point, Paarl Gim over Wynberg and Marlow over Outeniqua. Then Boland Landbou beat Oakdale in Agter-Paarl.
But the big result was Grey College's narrow victory over Paul Roos in Bloemfontein, which has in fact left those two great schools at 1 and 2.
Next week, we shall be doing our last Top 20 for 2014. Then, instead of a weekly reaction, we shall consider the whole season's results.
Relevant Results
One of the problems of making adjustments to the ranking is the number of schools not playing. This week Monnas, Grey PE, Glenwood, Dr EG Jansen, HTS Middelburg, Selborne, Kempton Park, Klofies, Menlopark and Maritzburg College.
