Schools Top 20 - June 23

Lots of schools have not played rugby this last weekend, probably because of exams. But Paarl Boys' High confirmed their No.1 spot.

The results is that there are, again, few changes to the Top 20 – just two in fact.

Paarl Gim beat a school in the Top 20 in an excellent match. Monnas drew with a school not in the Top 20 and so we swapped the two.

Down below we have promoted Stellenberg so that they get a foot on the ladder after beating Boland Landbou. We are not punishing Helpmekaar who did not play but rather rewarding Stellies who played and won – a matter of rewarding someone who did something rather than protecting somebody who did nothing.

The other school we discussed was Bishops who won the outstanding match with Rondebosch but whereas Stellies beat somebody on their level as close contenders, Bishops beat somebody who has dropped off that list of late.

This will be the last Top 20 of this term. The next one will be in the third term.
