St. Andrews College beat Daniël Pienaar in Grahamstown

In a windy Grahamstown on Saturday, St Andrew's were good value for their 31-17 victory over Daniël Pienaar of Uitenhage.
It was a disappointing performance by Daniël Pienaar, whose forwards in particular did not play to their potential at all.
St Andrew's played with the wind in the first half and led 17-3 at half-time. In that first half loosehead prop G Crocker and left wing B Ford scored tries for St Andrew's before flyhalf Louis Kruger goaled a penalty for Daniël Pienaar. St Andrew's led 10-3, which was the score for most of the half.
The turning point came just before half-time when Tiger Bax intercepted and scored a try for St Andrew's, which P Vogel converted.
Daniël Pienaar started the second half well, and right wing George Jacobs finished well to score a try which Kruger converted. 17-10 to St Andrew's.
Daniël Pienaar did not control the ball well at the kick-off and again St Andrew's were able to pile on the pressure.. Bax was able to capitalise on poor defence and score a try, converted by Vogel to make the score 24-10/
Daniël Pienaar fought back well but their finishing was poor. Their backs got going again but again Bax intercepted and scored, converting his own try. 31-10.
Daniël Pienaar got a late try by eighthman Ryno de Bruin, converted by Kruger to make the final score 31-17.
The St Andrew's centres, B Zungula and Tiger Bax both had outstanding games. For Daniël Pienaar the stars were scrumhalf Ignick Windvogel and wings George Jacobs and Juan Swart.
