St Andrew's go North to Selborne
St Andrew’s College rugby and hockey teams will be driving the 160km from Grahamstown to East London to face Selborne College.
It promises to be a tightly contested match..
Last year, Selborne had a particularly strong side and they beat St Andrew’s 36-17 in Grahamstown. This year things look more even.
Season So Far
Both teams are ranked on the Schools Top 20 – St Andrew’s 17th and Selborne 19th.
Selborne have 12 matches, two against other teams on the Top 20. They have won nine and lost three.
St Andrew’s have played 10 matches, three against other teams on the Top 20. They have drawn with Grey PE and lost to Rondebosch and Helpmekaar.
The only opposition the two have in common is Kearsney College. Selborne lost to them 27-17; St Andrew’s beat them 22-7.

Selborne’s Jarrod Taylor and Jacques Goosen, played for SA Schools in 2018. The two of them plus captain Mntungwa Mapantsela and eighthman Raiden Masters played for Border at Craven Week.
The St Andrew’s captain Chris Poole and his props, the Malesu twins, played for Eastern Province at Craven Week.
