St.Benedict's dismiss St.David's
St Benedict’s College rugby season is well under way, having played their first official fixture against St David’s Inanda on Saturday, March 28.
The team from Bedford View won the game convincingly with a score of 58-7 over St David’s Inanda.
The game started off tightly contested ,as always when playing top-flight schoolboy rugby, but slowly opened up after St.Benedicts scored a try early in the first half.
It was a game of good skills shown by St Benedict’s with the flyhalf and inside centre setting up a number of tries for their outside backs, and one wing scoring a hat-trick, to put St Benedict’s in a good position to win the game.
St Benedict’s dominated the game in the forwards as well as in the backs, with an attacking threat at their disposal scoring eight tries in total. This is an incredible start for the team building a lot of confidence going forward.
St Benedict’s 1st XV will be playing at the St Johns Easter Festival on Thursday against Monument at 18.00, which will prove to be an enthralling Gauteng clash.
