Stellenberg host Boland Landbou

It’s not far from Paarl to Durbanville, and the difference between the two teams in ability is also not great.

Last year they played on the Farm and Boland Landbou won 31-20. This year the match is in Durbanville. Last year Landbou were probably stronger than they are this year and Stellies are certainly stronger this year than they were last year. In fact Stellies are having a really good season.

Season So Far

Stellenberg have played 10, won eight and losing two – and those two were to Affies (287-21) and the mighty Grey Bloem (54-7).

Boland Landbou have played eight, won five and lost three. Their defeats were at the hands of Helpmekaar (64-17), Monument (42-33) and Bishops (53-19)

They are both Western Province schools and in close proximity to each other, and yet they have no common opponents so far this year.

Of their 10 opponents, Stellenberg has played only one Western Province side – Brackenfell – and five of Landbou’s opponents have been outside the Western Province.

Landbou’s best win of the season was probably beating Waterkloof 36-31 whilst Stellenberg’s is probably their huge 50-7 defeat of Noord-Kaap of Kimberley who are always a competitive side.

In the recent Schools Top 20, Stellenberg were ranked 18th, Boland Landbou in the pressure group just under the Top 20.
