Tries secure Muir win
Neo Mehlwana's try double sealed a 19-5 victory for Muir at Victoria Park. Muir narrowly led 14-5 at the break.
Victoria Park put their home ground advantage to good use allowing the Muir side to run in only three tries.
Muir's first was scored by right wing Luke Terblance after hard work by the forwards paid off. Scrumhalf Joel Wates kicked the conversion.
Muir put a few phases together and drew in the defence, allowing left wing Neo Mehlwana to round his man and dot down under the poles and Joel Wates converted. A lapse in concentration and a few missed tackles saw Victoria Park's eighthman put their only points on the board when he scored in the right corner.
The second half was riddled with mistakes, poor decision-making and missed opportunities by the Muir side and this is evident in the scoreline. When Muir eventually put phases together and maintained possession Mehlwana went over for his second.
The tight five worked well together but prop Blake Callahan and lock Lutho Njobe stood out. Eighthman Luxolo Koza also needs a mention with scurmhalf Joel Wates doing the basics and getting the job done.
