Under-13 CW: Big wins on Day One
There were eight matches on Day 1 of the Under-13 Craven Week being played in cold Kimberley at Hoërskool Diamantveld.
Six of the eight matches produced big wins, two were close.
The match between the Pumas and Boland was close up to half-time when the score was five-all, but Boland then scored five tries to one in the second half.
Free State came from behind to scrape through with a three-point victory over the Pumas. The winners scored four tires to three.
In the one-point match between Eastern Province and the home side Griquas, the teams each scored three tries and one goal. But Eastern Province’s goal, kicked by Daylin Myners, was a penalty, Griquas a conversion, kicked by Pharrell van Wyk.
Hence the one-point victory for the men from the Bay.
