Under-19 Final
The first of the trilogy of Finals kicks off at noon at Kings Park -the Under-19 Finals between Blue Bulls and Western Province.
The two teams have met twice before this year. Western Province beat the Blue Bulls twice – 20-16 at home and 38-35 in Pretoria. But as the Under-21 team has lost players to the Currie Cup team, so the Under-21 team has taken players from the Under-19 side. Three of them have been taken up – slick flyhalf Tim Swiel, the fullback with the magic feet, Cheslin Kolbe who could just become a star, and lock Jean Kleyn who is on the bench for the Under-21s.
Western Province topped the Under-19 log and beat the Golden Lions 24-14 in their home semifinal while the Blue Bulls beat the Sharks 46-35 at Loftus Versfeld.
Not that previous results count for much when the Final kicks off.
