Unfortunate Defeat for Muir
Muir narrowly went down 22-23 to hosting Kingswood. The Muir side did extremely well to come back from a 7-17 deficit at the break.
Kingswood opened the scoring with a converted try. Muir soon replied when left wing Xolela Daniels crossed the line after a well orchestrated set piece move. Fullback Ruben de Vos converted to even the scores.
The hosts kicked a penalty and added a converted try before the break to get back into the lead.
The second half saw a more determined Muir College run onto the park. Muir ran in two superb tries, both by their wings. First was by Daniels, his second of the game. Right wing Leigh-Angus Nell cut the defensive line in half to score Muir’s third after the forwards worked hard at scrum time to secure a strong left shoulder. De Vos added the conversion and a penalty kick for Muir. Kingswood could reply with only two “penalties”.
