Wildeklawer: Melting pot of good rugby

Four of the 20 schools participating is the prestigious event are unbeaten. This list includes; Hoër Landbouskool Oakdale, Hoër Jongenskool Paarl Boys High, Afrikaans Hoër Seunskool (Affies) and Grey College.

The two day tournament kicks-off with a match between Hoërskool Dr. E.G Jansen and HTS Louis Botha, just after that Oakdale – who is on an nine unbeaten run – will take on Wildeklawer SARU.

Beacuse of Glenwood High School's tour to Japan, Paul Roos Gimnasium has stepped in as a replacement, while Hoërskool Garsfontein from Pretoria and the Settlers High School from Cape Town are making their debuts.

On day one there are a few anticipated matches; unbeaten Grey College side take on the newbies Garsfontein, while Hoërskool Waterkloof has a face-off with Paarl Boys' High.

Garsfontein and Waterkloof has it all to do if they want to stage an upset against Grey College – who is on a six match winning steak – and Paarl Boys' High – who have not lost in eight matches.

While there is much focus on the four unbeaten schools, the host Diamantveld with early season losses againts the likes of Affies and Oakdale will be looking to put in a strong performance during the festival. Diamantveld will face Boland Landbou as day one concludes.

One day two there is the battle of debutants when Garsfontein take on the Settlers, the Pretoria side do step into this match as favorites due to the season they have has so far.

Some of the anticipated games on day two are Oakdale against Grey College, and Affies versus Paarl Boys High, this means that two of the four unbeaten schools will be reduce to two after the tournament.
