Willem Botes - Captain of Blouskool

Hoerskool Kroonstad skipper Willem Botes is hoping for a cohesive effort from his team in their clash with Afrikaanse Hoerskool on Saturday.

The mobile loosehead prop, who converted from No.8 last year, has been frustrated with his team's lack of consistency this year and is keen to see them put together a complete performance against their old rivals from the Rooiskool.

"We have had our ups and downs this year as we have seemed to play in fits and starts, but it has been better in the last few weeks and hopefully we can play as a team this weekend," he said.

According to Botes, the forward pack will look to set the tone with some physicality up front.

"We will not stand back and will have to play the game in their half of the field so our kicking will have to be good and the forwards will have to take control," he explained.

The Blouskool captain is expecting plenty of support for his side, and added that there will be no shortage of motivation for them to play hard in this FNB Classic Clash.

With 12 Matrics in the side he is confident that they will be able to assert their authority against Rooiskool as long as they keep their focus on the game.
