Wolmaransstad captain - Tiaan van Zyl

 

Having represented the Leopards age group team, captain Tiaan van Zyl is the type of player that is always striving for his best.

 

As a captain he deals with pressure exremely well and it is his decision making under stress that has seen him elevate his play as a flyhalf and as a captain.

 

"I try to lead by example, be it off the field or on and I always give my best," Van Zyl said"

 

"I can make decisions in difficult times and this really helps me to express myself as a flyhalf."

 

The last time these two rivals met it was Schoonspruit that came out on top, quite convincingly – but Van Zyl believes there is no better time than now.

 

"They are hard and I think they will come out to a point," he added

 

"We take the game as it comes this time around –  There are two Classic Clashes this year, so there is certainly something to play for."

 

Although against it Van Zyl is relishing the prospect of a tough, hard-fought game.

 

"We will not back down against them even if they come at us hard," Van Zyl continued

 

"We will fight until the final whistle and hopefully that will earn us the result we are looking for."
