Potch Boys' High Festival -Results
A very successful Easter Rugby Festival was help at Potchefstroom Boys’ High School this weekend. 12 sides participated and there were good crowds (Saturday the largest, about 3000 people). The spectators were treated to some good schoolboy rugby in a festival that was characterised by some very one-sided matches and some extremely close contests.
Three sides ended the Potchefstroom Boys’ High School’s Easter Rugby Festival undefeated.
Helpmekaar Kollege emerged as the strongest of the sides on display at the Festival. They began their campaign with a 33-0 drubbing of HTS Potchefstroom, followed by a 12-0 beating of Wesvalia and a 55 -0 win over the outclassed FNB Invitation side.
Lichtenburg also emerged undefeated having beaten Hudson park 30-10, “Die Blou” school from Kroonstad 10-0 and Alberton 43-0.
Hennenman from the Griffons played some good rugby to beat Alberton 43-0, Fourways 13-0 and win a tough encounter with College 12-7 scorning in the last minute of the game.
Hudson Park from East London played some attractive rugby going down to Lichtenburg 30-10 but recovering well to beat College 10-7 in a needle match and Carleton Jones 62-7.
