Schools Results - 16 June
Youth Day, but not many of the country’s youth played rugby on this day, except in the Western Cape where Saturday was a perfect day for rugby after a cold and wet week.
The big result was at SACS. In the 1870s, it is said, SACS taught Stellenbosch to play. They taught them another lesson in muddy Newlands on Saturday, a rare SACS victory over Paul Roos.
Selborne had another big win, this time at the expense of the battling St Andrew’s side.
There was a battle of the saints in Gauteng when St Charles and St Benedict’s, both schools founded by the Oblate Fathers, met.
Bishops and Rondebosch renewed their neighbourly rivalry with a big win for Bishops, though oddly a better result for Rondebosch.
