Sifisa Vilikazi – Jeppe captain

Player profile

Jeppe are at home to KES in the first FNB Classic Clash of 2006. Sifisa Vilikazi will be capatining and hoping to inspire the Jeppe side.

You can expect as much chat on the field on Saturday when Jeppe take on KES as there will be off it. Sifisa Vilikazi and his team pride themselves on their communication and will be looking to this aspect of the game to overcome any possible early season jitters as well as their arch-rivals King Edward VII school on Saturday.

Sifisa is a born and bred Johannesburg boy who attended Edmund Hilary Primary School before graduating to Jeppe. He has clearly excelled at Jeppe as apart from being 1st XV captain he is a school prefect. Sifisa hopes to study sports management at the University of Johannesburg after writing matric.

Having played prop for the 2nd XV last season, Sifisa is a tight hooker. Apart from his communication skills he cites his strong tackling and his ability to clean rucks as his personal strengths. Much like his rugby hero, Kevan Mealamu, Sifisa likes to get the job done with the minimum of fuss.

The Jeppe team has a fast and exciting set of backs this season and Sifisa and his fellow forwards will be striving to provide them with as much quick, clean ball as possible. Even though Jeppe lost heavily last season Sifisa and his team are confident and are really looking forward to Saturday's game. Home ground advantage will play a big role in proceedings and Sifisa says that a Jeppe win would mean a lot not only to him, but also to the whole of Johannesburg!
