Top 20 - 29 May 2007
Again we set our minds to producing as fair a Top 20 of schools in South Africa, a difficult task because of the number of top schools to choose from.
Firstly, last week we missed out on an important result. It arrived too late for us to consider but we have tried to work it into this week’s ranking. HTS Middelburg beat Ermelo 38-10, which is a big result. That was a pity. It would help if schools sent scores when we miss them – pauld@365digital.co.za.
This week’s big result was Marais Viljoen’s win over high-riding Eldoraigne.
Monnas came back strongly against Florida.
Affies and Nelspruit had a close encounter.
Selborne continue their unpredictable way. Since being hammered by Grey Bloem they have had two good wins.
There is actually quite a bit of movement this week. After tough discussion we have Paul Roos up a place, Eldoraigne down a bit, Ermelo also down, Westville, Diamantveld, Michaelhouse and Outeniqua up and Florida down, Tygerberg up and Graeme down.
Some who did not play may find their positions slightly adapted. That is to reward those who did play.
For the first time we have a newcomer on the Top 20 – Welkom Gimnasium who have had big wins this year over both Kroonstad schools.
