Schools Top 20 - May 17
It's not the same sort of storm that has brought the rain to the northern parts of the country, bad enough to force the cancellation of some matches. This storm is forecast for Brug Street in Paarl on Saturday, May 21.
That is when unbeaten One meets unbeaten Two – Paarl Boys' High vs Grey College of Bloemfontein.
Despite Grey's big win over Selborne, we have left them unchanged at the top of the ranking, partly because Boys' High also had a strong win, and it's hard to demote a team that played and won well. They have each played and beaten four Top 20 sides. We thought it wise to let Saturday's match decided the order at the top. Clearly they are both excellent teams.
We have promoted Affies above Glenwood, not to punish Glenwood for being such stars in Japan but to reward Affies. Paul Roos have dropped a little after their defeat in Riversdale and correspondingly, Oakdale have risen.
HTS Middelburg were in the pressure group last week and we have giving them a rung on the ladder after their victory. We have also brought Kingswood back onto the pressure group while Drostdy drop off.
