Top 20 - 22 July 2008

There have been some interesting matches this weekend which have caused a bit of an upheaval in this Top 20, the first of the third term.

Some schools have not played but we shall continue to reward the teams that did play.

Grey High and Paarl Gim both battled to win, which may have something to do with the aftermath of Craven Week, but EG Jansen and Waterkloof had big wins.

Below them there were huge wins for Paul Roos over Oakdale, Glenwood over Maritzburg College, Michaelhouse over George Campbell, Affies over Eldoraigne and Marlow over Sentraal of Bloemfontein.

Paarl Boys’ High, HTS Middelburg and Selborne had good wins.

Then there were the three surprises. First Framesby of Port Elizabeth beat Outeniqua of George. This was a huge surprise as Outeniqua were major contributors to the South Western Districts side that were the unofficial champions of the 2008 Craven Week.

Then Florida beat Monnas in as close encounter and Rondebosch went out into the country and beat Boland Landbou.

This means that Rondebosch will make a rare appearance in the Top 20.

The Greys meet in PE this weekend, which should be interesting.
