No silver lining for Mentz

After a competitive first half in Nelspruit on Friday the Lions shifted into another gear to eventually win 41-11. The Pumas were also not helped by their ill-discipline as they picked up three yellow cards as well.

"I am disappointed about the game. It was very tough for us in the tight phases and it was an area where the Lions dominated us," said Mentz.

"We also got three yellow cards and that gave the Lions the upper hand."

The Pumas did have their fair share of the ball in the game and dominated the territory stats for large periods, but could just not turn it into valuable points.

"We just could not get going. In the first half we had some good territorial advantage and we played in right areas of the field, but we could just not get any points.

"We also could not get points when we kicked to polls. Overall we are not satisfied," said Mentz.

Speedy wing Rosco Spekman looks like the only real injury concern for the Pumas after he had to leave the field.

"There is nothing that we really know at this stage regarding injuries. Rosco went off with an injury, but I don't think it is serious," Mentz added.

Friday's loss saw the Pumas fall down to sixth on the standings and things will not get any easier for them next week when they travel to Durban to face the Sharks – a team they beat in Round One.
