Tshakweni, a loosehead prop, is a capped junior Springbok who has represented Border at Under-18 Academy Week and Craven Week.

Later in his senior career, he played in the Pro14 and the EPCR Challenge Cup.

The 25-year-old Hudson Park High alumni was part of the Cheetahs’ Currie Cup winning side.

He is no stranger to the capital. He had a brief loan spell with the Bulls Under-21 side in 2018 and now returns to join the herd permanently until July 2026.

“This is a huge privilege and honour for me to be here. I cannot wait to get to share what I have to offer with everyone,” Tshakweni said.

“This franshise presents a wonderful opportunity for me to get experience in the United Rugby Championship and the Champions Cup, both international competitions that will help me grow and become a better player over and above the most important competition in South Africa, the Currie Cup.
