Cheetahs to receive timely boost

The Cheetahs are set to be bolstered by a number of returning players for this weekend’s Currie Cup catfight against the Golden Lions.

Former Springbok loose forward Kabamba Floors and lock Andries Ferreira have recovered from their respective knee injuries and will be available for selection as the men from Bloemfontein look to exact revenge for their Round One defeat.

Utility forward Francois Uys will also be available for selection after serving his two-week suspension for foul play. He missed the match against the Sharks in Durban and last weekend’s disappointing home defeat against Western Province.

The expected returns of Uys and Floors could relegate ex-Springbok Hendro Scholtz, who was called out of retirement to provide cover from the bench last weekend, out of the matchday 22 for Saturday’s encounter in Bloemfontein.

According to coach Naka Drotske, Springbok prop Coenie Oosthuizen could make his long awaited return from a neck injury against the Blue Bulls next weekend.
