Goosen gets new role at Bulls
SPOTLIGHT: Playmaker Johan Goosen has a new role at the Bulls while he recovers from his knee injury.
Blue Bulls Rugby Union president Willem Strauss revealed that the 29-year-old will be doing some coaching.
Goosen will be the kicking coach for their Under-20 team.
The Springbok underwent surgery in October last year after he damaged his anterior cruciate knee ligament in a win over Cardiff in the United Rugby Championship.

At the time, Bulls Director of Rugby Jake White revealed that Goosen’s rehabilitation period was between seven to nine months.
Goosen produced a number of strong performances for the Bulls last year. Before the November international series, Springbok head coach Jacques Nienaber admitted that Goosen was one of the players he had an eye on.
“There are a lot of fringe players on our standby list and Johan was definitely one the guys that we were looking at,” Nienaber said at the time.
“It is unfortunate that he got injured, especially with Morné Steyn deciding that he is going to retire from international rugby. It probably opened up a little bit of a window there.”
