Jantjies back for Bulls

The Blue Bulls, fresh from their morale-boosting win over the Free State Cheetahs at the weekend, received more good news on Monday.

A number of the players that featured in the 26-10 win over the Cheetahs will not train till Wednesday.

However, Bulls coach Pine Pienaar should have flyhalf Tony Jantjies and outside back Travis Ismaiel available for selection for Saturday's crunch Currie Cup clash against Western Province at Loftus Versfeld.

Jantjies (hip) and Ismaiel (knee) will train this week and could be named in the squad to play the defending champions.

Centre Francois Venter (foot) and outside back Clayton Blommetjies (ankle) will only train on Tuesday.

However, prop Morné Mellett will only be ready to resume training next Monday and will miss another week of action.

Basil Short (knee, four months till his return), Francois Hougaard (ankle, five months), Cornell Hess (knee, six weeks), Deon Stegmann (shoulder, five months), Arno Botha (knee, two months), Pierre Spies (bicep, three months), Louis Fouché (knee, four months), Jean Cook (thumb, three weeks) and Callie Visagie (ankle, four weeks) remain on the long-term casualty list.
