Pumas keep winning formula

TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT: Pumas coach Jimmy Stonehouse has kept faith in the team that beat the Sharks last week.

The Pumas host Western Province in a Currie Cup Round 11 match in Nelspruit on Friday.

The starting XV is unchanged from that which beat the third-placed Sharks 20-10 in Durban last week – a result that saw the Pumas move into fourth place, on 19 points, three behind the Sharks on the standings.

The only changes are on the bench – Simon Raw for Etienne Janeke as front row cover on the bench and Etienne Taljaard in place of Japie Kleinhans as outside back among the replacements.

However, Stonehouse revealed that ‘illness’ may still force some late changes.

He put it down to the long bus trip from Durban back to Nelspruit.

Pumas: 15 Devon Williams, 14 Sebastian de Klerk, 13 Alwayno Visagie, 12 Eddie Fouche, 11 Tapiwa Mafura, 10 Tinus de Beer, 9 Chriswill September, 8 Willie Engelbrecht (captain), 7 Anele Lungisa, 6 Daniel Maartens, 5 Shane Kirkwood, 4 Malembe Mpofu, 3 Ignatius Prinsloo, 2 Eduan Swart, 1 Corne Fourie.
Replacements: 16 Llewellyn Classen, 17 Dewald Maritz, 18 Simon Raw, 19 Darrien Landsberg, 20 Phumzile Maqondwana, 21 Giovan Snyman, 22 Ali Mgijima, 23 Etienne Taljaard.
