Rhodes hearing postponed ... again
The disciplinary hearing of Western Province forward Michael Rhodes has been postponed – for the third time this week.
Rhodes was first scheduled to face a hearing on Tuesday, which was postponed to Thursday (no reason given) and postponed to Friday due to the unavailability of the appointed judicial officer.
It has now has been deferred until further notice, as Rhodes had to attend to "prior commitments".
The player was cited for a dangerous tackle in the Currie Cup Final last Saturday – in which the Sharks beat Western Province 33-19 – and was scheduled to appear before a SARU judicial committee three times this week already.
Rhodes was penalised in the second half of the match for placing his arm around Sharks hooker Bismarck du Plessis' neck in a maul and maintaining his grip, which is in breach of law 10.4 (e) relating to dangerous tackling.
Donny Jacobs has been appointed the Judicial Officer.
