Sharks pounce for a Puma

The Sharks have signed talented loose-forward Renaldo Bothma from the Pumas on a two-year Super Rugby contract.

Bothma will return to the Pumas after he has completed his Super Rugby commitments for the Sharks.

The Namibian No.8 was a star performer for the Pumas in this year's Currie Cup and has clearly shown his class to the Sharks CEO, John Smit.

“We have witnessed Renaldo’s skill and explosiveness during this year’s Currie Cup competition and a player of his calibre will no doubt bolster our Super Rugby squad," Smit said

"We welcome him to Durban and trust that his stay at the Sharks will be a memorable one.”

Bothma is clearly excited at the prospect of joining one of the larger union, but the prospect of Super Rugby is a huge highlight.

“I am very excited about joining the Sharks and the prospect of participating in Super Rugby," Bothma added.

"This experience will certainly be a highlight of my rugby career thus far.”

The Sharks assemble for their pre season training on Monday, November 17 which will see Bothma join up with his new team mates.
