Sharks v Bulls clash cancelled
NEWS: There will be one less match in Round Nine of the Currie Cup.
In a statement on Wednesday, SA Rugby revealed that the match between the Sharks and the Bulls, scheduled to take place in Durban on Saturday, has been cancelled.
The match has been declared a draw and the log points will be shared.
“Due to the heavy flooding in KwaZulu-Natal and the considerable loss of life and infrastructure damage across the province, and out of respect to their community in the face of the disaster the province is enduring, the two teams have agreed to cancel this encounter,” said the statement.
“As there was no alternative option to reschedule the match, the result will be declared a draw and the log points will be shared, with each team awarded two log points.”
The Bulls are on top of the standings with 32 points and the Sharks are in third with 24 points.
The Lions will face Griquas in Johannesburg on Thursday. Western Province will host the Cheetahs in Cape Town on Friday.
