Nohamba was given a shocking hospital pass from his fellow number eight Sikhumbuzo Notshe which left his ribs exposed to a brutal shot from Western Provence wing Angelo Davids.

The collision of that nature would leave most players in serious pain on the ground, but Nohamba was able to slowly get back to his feet and continue.

Questions have been raised by the commentary team and fans on Twitter about the legality of the tackle as Nohamba was in the air as he took the ball.

But the challenge was deemed legal by the officials.

Nohamba was replaced by Jaden Hendrikse in the second half.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Sharks coach Sean Everitt revealed that Nohamba was fine.

“Nohamba didn’t get injured in that hit, although it looked quite bad,” Everitt said.

“We will have another look at the incident but at the end of the day we felt Jaden [Hendrikse] would offer us a little more,”

“Sanele hasn’t played in a long time, so we didn’t want to push him,”

In the end, the Sharks won the game 19-9 at Newlands and a booked a final spot against Bulls at Loftus Versfeld.
