More punishment for Slater?

EPCR has received a citing complaint against the lock following his club's European Rugby Champions Cup, Round Six match against Glasgow Warriors at Welford Road on last weekend.

 

Slater is alleged to have struck the Glasgow Warriors prop, Zander Fagerson in the 21st minute of the match in contravention of Law 10.4 (a). The complaint was made by the match Citing Commissioner, Jeff Mark (Wales).

 

David Martin (Ireland), David Hurley (Ireland) and Roddy Dunlop (Scotland), have been appointed as the independent Disciplinary Committee for the hearing which will take place in London on Monday (30 January).

 

Law 10.4 (a) Striking another player with the hand, arm or fist

Under World Rugby's Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 10.4 (a), striking with the hand, arm or fist, carries the following sanction entry points – Low End: 2 weeks; Mid-range: 5 weeks; Top end: 8 to 52 weeks.

Leicester Tigers have already suspended Slater from playing for two weeks after an internal disciplinary hearing.
