VIDEO: Lions to find balance ahead of Challenge Cup opener
SPOTLIGHT: The Lions head into the Challenge Cup campaign very optimistic, despite their United Rugby Championship defeat to Munster in Limerick at the weekend.
The Lions have been in great form, recording four consecutive wins before they went down to Leinster (24-6) and Munster (17-10).
While the results were expected, the Lions put in a valiant show against Munster.
They made a decent first start, taking a 10-7 lead at the break.
However, missed chances coupled with some poor game management saw Munster run in two tries and kept the visitors scoreless for the win.

Lions head coach Ivan van Rooyen rued the missed opportunity to secure a win in Ireland, but is fully determined to rewrite their wrongs and find the balance when they face Ospreys in Round One of the European Challenge Cup on Sunday.
“We need to work on our decision-making and find the balance with what is needed in the moment,” said Van Rooyen.
“It is run with momentum and quick ball or a kick on front foot ball. Or is it when we are under pressure we have to see if we can transfer the pressure back [to the opposition]
“It is raining every day, it’s one degree, so a big week in terms of prep for us in that area.”

Van Rooyen admitted the team is on the right track.
“I think the forwards made a big step in the set piece and stopped momentum which was a big focus for us
“So a lot of good things but a bit disappointed because we created an opportunity to make history for us and be the first South Africans to beat Munster here.”
Kade Wolhuter is the only injury concern for the side from Gauteng as they head to Swansea.
“Kade went off with a head knock and the fact that he didn’t return means he failed his initial test.”
The coach revealed he will undergo the HIA process but said the chances of him playing this week are very slim.
