Munster provide fresh update on Snyman ahead of Champions Cup play-off
INJURY UPDATE: Munster provided a positive update on Springbok lock RG Snyman on Wednesday.
Earlier this week, the double World Cup winner was listed as a major concern ahead of his team’s Champions Cup last 16 clash against Northampton Saints.
The South African was battling a virus that ruled him out of the United Rugby Championship match against Cardiff last weekend after he was originally being named in the starting squad.
However, Snyman returned to training on Wednesday and he is expected to be involved in Sunday’s play-off match.
“He had a virus,” said Munster assistant coach Denis Leamy.
“Yeah, he was huffing and puffing a little bit but we hope he’ll be fine.”
Meanwhile, Ireland wing Calvin Nash is still a major doubt for the province.
He suffered a leg injury in that win over Cardiff.
“Calvin is still too early to say,” Leamy said.
“He didn’t train today [Wednesday] and it’s still early days to say whether he’ll come through or not.”
