Bardy cited in Euro Champions Cup
The EPCR has received a citing complaint against Clermont Auvergne replacement loose forward, Julien Bardy, following the European Champions Cup Round one match against Saracens on Saturday, October 18.
Bardy is alleged to have struck Saracens player, Billy Vunipola (No.8), with his knee in the 78th minute of the Pool 1 match at Allianz Park.
The complaint was made by the match Citing Commissioner, John Charles.
Simon Thomas has been appointed as the independent Judicial Officer for the hearing which will take place in Dublin on Thursday, October 23.
10.4 (a) Punching or striking. A player must not strike an opponent with the fist or arm, including the elbow, shoulder, head or knee(s).
Under the IRB Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 10.4 (a) Striking a player with the knee carries the following sanction entry points – Low End: three weeks; Mid-Range: eight weeks; Top End: 12+ to 52 weeks.
