Bok's response to Lions recall

TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT: Lions coach Ivan van Rooyen has made two forced changes to his team for their European Challenge Cup quarterfinal encounter with an in-form Glasgow Warriors on Saturday.

A resilient Lions team survived an early red card to book a spot in the Challenge Cup quarterfinals with a 51-28 Round of 16 victory over Racing 92 at Ellis Park last weekend.

Two-try hero from last week Marius Louw will again captain the squad.

Veteran Springbok Jacobus Kriel returns from injury to start on the flank in the place of the suspended Emmanuel Tshituka – who was red-carded in the first quarter of the win over Racing.

The only other change is injury-enforced – with Ruben Schoeman coming in for Reinhard Nothnagel, who suffered an eye injury in last week’s match.

Ruan Delport comes onto the bench to cover the lock vacancy created by Schoeman’s promotion to the starting XV.

Kriel, speaking about his return, said it is “always nice to be out on the field with the boys”.

His last outing, before the injury, was also against Glasgow.

“It will be good to face them at their home,” the 33-year-old Bok said.

“It is going to be a massive clash, as they are the in-form team.

“It will be a good game to test ourselves in.”
