Bowe wary of wounded Saints

Ulster wing Tommy Bowe has warned his teammates to be on their guard in their return European Cup fixture with Northampton Saints this weekend.

The Belfast club and last season's finalists stunned the 2000 European champions by leaving Franklin's Gardens with the maximum five points last week after a four-try victory that swept them six points clear of Castres Olympique at the top of the group.

Bowe made his European debut eight years ago against Cardiff Blues and marked his 50th Heineken Cup appearance with his 23rd tournament try but is wary of the inevitable Saints backlash at Ravenhill this weekend.

"Yes we took a bonus point out of Franklin's Gardens, but they made us work hard for that win and it was not until the final minute or two that we went in for the fourth try to secure that bonus," said the Irish international wing.

"We know that Northampton are going to come to us this week and come at us twice as hard.

"We can be massively pleased to have made it four wins on the bounce away from home, but in terms of Europe, the job is only half done.

"We have to do it all again this week, and we will have to be up another per cent on our game again," he said.
