Cheetahs confirm player movements
SQUAD UPDATE: The Cheetahs have confirmed their player movements ahead of the 2023/2024 season.
The Bloemfontein side will start their pre-season on Wednesday where they will start preparing for the Bloemfontein Challenge and the European Challenge Cup later this year.
On Tuesday, the Cheetahs confirmed a list of player departures which includes Zinedine Booysen, Brenden de Kock and Jean Droste.
Their new teams are yet to be confirmed.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that flyhalf Siya Masuku and loose forward George Cronje will be joining the Sharks.
Last month, the Lions announced that prop Conraad van Vuuren will be heading to Johannesburg
Springbok veteran Frans Steyn announced his retirement earlier this month.
To offset the loss of some of those players, the Cheetahs have been signing players.
As previously reported, Hawies Fourie will have lock Carl Wegner and scrumhalf Ruben de Haas back in Bloemfontein.
Flyhalf Abner van Reenen and scrumhalf Reagan Oranje will also bolster the backline
In the pack, young prop Banele Mthenjane joins from the Lions and Justin Forwood joins from Griquas.
Prop Laurence Victor makes the step up from the Academy.
